Head impacts change lives (for the worse)

Certain medical conditions can increase the risk of unexpected slips and falls that can result in life-changing head injuries. Repeated head impacts can adversely affect memory, behaviour, and the ability to focus, learn and think. Protecting your brain protects your future life and the quality of your life.

Head injuries happen frequently in everyday situations – in the home, public places and workplace.

  • In 2023-24, there were 123,969 UK hospital admissions for head injury. This equates to one head injury every four minutes*.

  • Males were 1.5x more likely than females to be admitted to a UK hospital for a head injury in 2023-24*.

The problem with other day-to-day headgear:

Comes with a stigma.

People look, stare and comment. It’s typically bulky, unfashionable, chunky, uncomfortable and sweaty, and draws attention to the wearer. This makes them feel conscientious, and less willing to protect themselves.

Is typically not legal PPE.

If you cannot be provided with a PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Declaration of Conformity for your headgear, it isn’t legal to be sold as protection under UK and EU law.

Is not focused on brain protection.

Hard-shelled helmets focus on protecting the skull. They increase brain trauma by permitting more frequent and heavier impacts to the brain. Such everyday protective headgear is not fit for purpose.

NeuroSure is on a mission to raise the bar for brain protection

We challenge stereotypes around the current design of protective headgear. We’re utilising the latest science around effective brain protection. We appreciate the style and functional demand needs for all those who need brain protection in day-to-day activities.

A founder’s vision

Over forty years of research and development sit behind Halos®, and brain protection has been on Judith McMinn’s mind for over two decades.

Rezon Halos® is designed to protect the brain. With an initial focus on protecting sports players and professional athletes from CTE (an early-onset dementia), our research found a significant and sizeable problem with brain injury for those with epilepsy, autism, balance issues, fainting, hydrocephalus, post-surgery recovery, seizures, and children on the spectrum.

It is these stories of struggle and daily sacrifices, because of head impacts, that have shifted our focus. Halos® offers brain protection for every wearer.

Join us today and become a valued member of our dynamic community and in this new choice of protection.

“I want to ensure the same brain protection is available to those who need it in day-to-day activities, as those who play sport.”
