The top of the head is intentionally left uncovered because impacts to this area are less common and typically produce lower rotational forces than impacts to the back, sides or front. Top-of-head impacts account for an estimated 6% of head injuries, while Halos® covers approximately 53% of an adult head surface area.

This design choice also supports daily wearability.
