Customer Reviews

“I have fallen twice, hitting my forehead. I can’t risk another one. I got this headgear a little bit ago and have been using it every time I go outside along with some walking sticks. I’m very pleased with the comfort level, the fit, and the color.”

What is the best medical helmet for multiple sclerosis?

For people with MS who experience dizziness, balance problems, weakness, fatigue or falls, Rezon Halos® provides a different level of protection: a discreet protective headband with CE/UKCA Category II PPE certification, a Virginia Tech 5-star safety rating, published rotational force reduction and patented Rotection® technology.

The first priority should always be credible protection, not just soft padding or a reassuring label. That means looking at protective design intent, certification status, and evidence of independent testing.

A medical helmet also needs to be tolerable enough to be worn consistently in everyday life.

Rezon Halos® is designed around both needs: protective credibility and low-intrusion, continuous wear, including in bed and when bathing.

Comparing medical head protection and medical headgear

The table below compares several types of headgear commonly recommended or supplied through charities, medical suppliers, and care equipment providers, for autism, neurological conditions, or special needs protection.

The comparison focuses on objective criteria, including biomechanical testing, CE/UKCA PPE certification status, suitability for everyday wear, and practical considerations such as compatibility with different hair types.

Ground-breaking protective headwear

Rezon Halos® is the first and only legally approved PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) of its type.

All head protection must be tested and certified as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulation (PPE Directive (EU) 2016/425) before being legally sold in the UK and Europe. PPE legislation is a separate piece of legislation from and should not be confused with the Medical Devices Directive.

Head protection beyond cuts and scrapes falls into either Category II (independent testing and certification) or Category III (independent testing and certification, plus ongoing surveillance of production quality). It is illegal to place any protective headwear on the UK and European product market for sale without certification.

Rezon Halos® is the first and only legally approved protective headwear of its type in the UK and Europe, having secured Category II PPE certification from Italcert Notified body No.0426. It is legally approved to use the CE mark. Halos® is also UKCA marked.
